Dawn of the Clickers
Chapter 9
The hybrids have also begun to inhabit the world’s lakes and rivers, adapting to the unique challenges and opportunities these environments present. In the freshwater ecosystems, they have developed a symbiotic relationship with the local flora and fauna, contributing to the overall health and balance of these habitats. Their bodies have evolved to be more compact and agile, allowing them to navigate the narrow waterways and dense vegetation. Their skin has developed a layer of protective mucus to shield them from parasites and diseases, while their eyes have adapted to see clearly in the murky waters.
